  • As the pandemic lingers, companies are wrestling with return-to-the-workplace planning and execution. This is exponentially more difficult for global companies with a multitude of sites and a variety of facilities – as is the case at Johnson & Johnson. Under the time pressure of the pandemic, data science experts and the corporate business technology team delivered a data ecosystem and analytics tool set in 12 weeks that processes more than 15 million records a day in real time on employee site utilization. Managers use these dashboards to ensure COVID-19 protocols are followed to keep employees safe. The Global Site Capacity Monitoring System is now being used to assess employee sentiment, helping inform considerations about the return process. Going forward, it will help identify new patterns and trends in workplace demand and usage to fuel innovation in workplace design and the employee workplace experience.
